Here she is in all her glory. The OG, the Original Gibson (Gangsta is also acceptable).
The front elevation of the home is jaw dropping. From the top and bottom porches to all the French doors. There is no "official" front door, but we all know which one it is right, right? We will be going with black exterior doors as we are aiming for a more modern look. I am secretly hoping to have 6 gas lanterns and forgoing the fans, but the practical me and maybe my husband is telling me that's just crazy with Texas summers. Shutters have already been moved to the "lost dreams" list as we're fully anticipating to have to make some cuts due to the ever increasing buildings costs. Thanks Covid. But maybe, just maybe, my practical husband will also tell me we absolutely need it given the crazy hurricanes we've seen along the Gulf coast in recent years.
We added an attached 3 car garage to the right side of the home, along with a butler's pantry, and a mudroom. Our home will have 4 bedrooms, which includes 2 master suites. The second master suite will be for guests, but in the long run we anticipate our parents moving in as they get older and need additional assistance. We will also have a finished attic, which will serve as a bunk room for additional guests and a hang out spot for the girls when they get older.
Hands down, the favorite part of the home will be the courtyard. More details to follow...
